||The Wechsler Memory Scale – Third Edition Abbreviated is a fast, reliable survey of auditory and visual memory abilities. The abbreviated version is derived from its predecessor, The Wechsler Memory Scale – Third Edition (WMS-III; Wechsler, 1997b). The WMS-III Abbreviated is an individually administered test and contains four subtests measuring auditory and visual immediate and delayed memory. In addition, the four subtests form three composites: Immediate Memory Composite, Delayed Memory Composite, and Total Memory Composite. It can be administered in 15-20 minutes by trained examiners. The test is appropriate for use with examinees aged 16-89 years.
