Description: | The Wechsler Fundamentals: Academic Skills – Canadian (WF: AScdn) is a brief achievement test that measures broad skills in the area of reading, spelling, and math computation. It contains four subtests: Word Reading, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, and Numerical Operations. The Word Reading and Reading Comprehension scores are combined to form the Reading Composite. Three of the four subtests, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, and Numerical Operations, can be administered either individually or in a group setting. The Word Reading subtest is always administered individually – Forms A and B The WF: ASCDN can be used as a school-wide screener to identify students at risk for academic failure, or in a clinical context to guide intervention strategies and further diagnostic options based on test results. The empirically-based assessment instrument also provides the ability to monitor progress over time. In that context, selective WIAT-II subtests can be administered as alternative forms. |
