|Title:||Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales, Second Edition (RIAS-2) / Reynolds Intellectual Screening Test, Second Edition (RIST-2) Comprehensive Kit|
|Author:||Cecil R. Reynolds and Randy W. Kamphaus|
|Description:||The Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales, Second Edition (RIAS-2) / Reynolds Intellectual Screening Test, Second Edition (RIST-2) Comprehensive Kit combine the full and screening versions of the test. The RIAS-2 is an individually administered test of intelligence appropriate for ages 3- 94 years with conormed, supplemental measures of memory and processing speed for a total of eight subtests that can be administered in less than an hour. The RIAS-2 includes a two-subtest Verbal Intelligence Index (VIX) and a two-subtest Nonverbal Intelligence Index (NIX). The scaled sums of T scores for the four subtests are combined to form the Composite Intelligence Index (CIX), which is a recommended summary estimate of global intelligence. Additional score composites for memory and processing speed are included to be used if desired for estimates of intelligence. New verbal and nonverbal processing speed subtests and a Speeded Processing Index (SPI) have been added.
The Reynolds Intellectual Screening Test, Second Edition (RIST-2) screening measure can be used to identify individuals in need of a comprehensive intellectual assessment by providing a g score (global estimate of general intelligence) in less than 15 minutes. It is not used to make classification decisions. The RIST-2 is composed of the Guess What and Odd-Item Out subtests designed to produce a single composite score that is an indicator of risk for intellectual impairment. The raw scores are converted to a T score and then used to derive the RIST-2 index or composite score.
