Description: | The NEPSY – Second Edition (NEPSY-II) is a neuropsychological assessment tool. The NEPSY-II is a child friendly test that provides a wealth of clinical data useful for planning treatment. It provides a flexible approach for evaluating attention/executive functions, language, visuospatial processing, sensorimotor functions, and memory and learning. The NEPSY-II allows the clinician to assess across six cognitive domains in children ages 3 to 16: Executive Functioning/Attention, Language, Memory and Learning, Sensorimotor Functioning, Visuospatial Processing and Social Perception. Results obtained from a NEPSY-II assessment inform diagnoses and aid in intervention planning for a variety of childhood disorders. In particular, the NEPSY-II provides the clinician with insight regarding academic, social and behavioral difficulties. A comprehensive understanding of a child’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses can facilitate the development of appropriate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and guide placement and intervention decisions. |
