The Conners’ Continuous Performance Test—Second Edition, Version 5 (CPT–II V:5) ) is a computerized assessment tool used to assess attention problems and to measure treatment  effectiveness.
The respondent’s continuous performance task is to press the space bar or click the mouse button when any letter except the target letter “X” appears. White letters appear on a black screen at varying Inter-Stimulus
Intervals (ISIs) of 1, 2, and 4 seconds with a display time of 250 milliseconds. There are six blocks, with three subblocks, each containing 20-letter presentations. The order of ISIs presentation varies between blocks.
The CPT II takes 14 minutes to complete. The age range for this assessment is 6 years through adulthood.
The normative base of clinical and non-clinical subjects includes a subsample of neurologically impaired individuals. Comparisons can be made to the non-impaired, the neurologically impaired, and/or ADD sample data.
The CPT–II V:5 software is an unlimited-use program. However, if installed on a network, the number of users of the program at one time is limited to the number of installations purchased.
