Description: |
The Body Esteem Scale for Children has 20-items, it is used with children between 8 and 15 years old. The Adolescent/Adult version uses a five-point, Likert-type scale and was rewritten to make the image appropriate for adolescents and adults. It consists of 23 items and has been used with elementary school students, high school students and college students in Canada. Both instruments have three subscales: appearance, weight and attribution (evaluations attributed to others about ones body and appearance). Reliability and validity are discussed. |
