BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory: Short (BarOn EQ-i:S) is an easily administered self-report instrument designed to measure emotionally intelligent behavior in situations where a more detailed assessment is not possible or is not required. According to the BarOn model, emotional intelligence pertains to the emotional, personal, and social dimensions of general intelligence. Emotional intelligence involves abilities, competencies and skills related to understanding oneself and others, relating to peers and family members, and adapting to changing environmental situations and demands. BarOn EQ-i:S consists of 51 items distributed across 8 scales: Inconsistency Index, Positive Impression Scale, Total EQ, Intrapersonal EQ, Interpersonal EQ, Stress Management EQ, Adaptability EQ, and General Mood EQ.
