Title: | Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA) – Semistructured Clinical Interview for Children and Adolescents (SCICA) |
Author: | McConaughy, S., & Achenbach, T. |
Year: | 2001 |
Description: | The SCICA is for use by experienced interviewers and includes a protocol of questions and probes for ages 6-18, an observation and self-report form for rating what the child does and says, and a profile for scoring ratings. SCICA is a standardized clinical interview designed as a component of the Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA). This is the second edition of the Manual for the Semistructured Clinical Interview for Children and Adolescents. It describes the features and development of the interview protocol and rating forms, plus a second edition version of the scoring profile.
The SCICA Observation and Self-Report Forms list items for rating observations of children’s behavior, affect, and interaction style, plus children’s own reports of their problems during the interview. The SCICA Profile for Ages 6-18 (SCICA Profile/ 6-18) displays item scores, syndrome scale scores, and broader scale scores for aggregating interviewers’ ratings of observations and children’s self-reported problems. The SCICA Profile/ 6-18 is an entirely new version that provides separate scale scores for ages 6-11 and 12-18. The SCICA Profile/ 6-18 can be hand-scored or computer-scored. |
