The French Test of Insight is a projective technique designed to measure achievement and affiliation motives of an individual through analysis of his/her free responses to situational cues presented in the form of behaviour descriptions. The test of consists of two forms each of which is make up of 10 statements or items which describe a "characteristic behaviour" of a hypothetical person. The examinee is required to explain the behaviour of various characters. The test deals with the ability to understand other people, and the respondent's task is to decide what the reason would be for the behaviour described.
